Several Liberty Residents Busted As Part County Drug Sting

Pickens County Sheriff's deputies in conjuction with Easley PD held a briefing on Wednesday morning touting the success of a recent County-wide drug sting.

On Friday, the Sheriff's department announced that 26 people had been arrested on 45 charges. Most of the charges were for distribution or possession of meth, prescription pills, and marijuana.

Video and audio surveillance were used by to record numerous drug deals between drug dealers, distributors, middlemen and manufacturers.

According to the warrants issued, 14 people sold drugs to undercover officers while under surveillance.

Others were arrested when drugs were found in their homes or cars.

One man had marijuana growing in his home.

Prescription drugs confiscated and discovered in the sting included; the date-rape drug Rohypnol and painkillers such as morphine and hydrocodone.


Some of those arrested knew one another, according to reports.

Those arrested ranged in age from 19 to 63 and spanned Liberty, Easley, Pickens, Six Mile and Clemson.

More arrests are expected.

Jonathan Brandon Weaver, 19, of Liberty

~ Manufacturing / distribution of meth

Brian Keith Gilstrap, 38, of Liberty

~ Possession of  >1 gram of meth

~ Possession of controlled substance

Jennie Renee Dalton, 38, of Liberty

~ Manufacturing / distribution of meth

Marcie Etrulia Brooks, 48, Liberty

~ Manufacturing / possession of controlled substances
