This is the Boggs home that was torn down in 1955. It belonged to Thomas Gillian Boggs and was built in 1815 on Edgemont Ave. It was torn down to build the new sanctuary for Liberty 1st Baptist

Originally it was a 5 room log house and added to significantly over the years ~ even adding two stories!

The original log home was built from timber that was on the property and hewn on spot. When the home was taken down in 1955, most of the house was "re-used" elsewhere in Liberty, resold, and parts donated to the family.

Pieces were used to make various wood items that are inside many Liberty churches today.

Thomas Gillian Boggs is credited as one of the founding leaders of Presbyterianism in Liberty.
