Liberty Resident, Sgt. Jamie Crawford, Featured In Anderson Independent Article About Anderson County Sheriff's K-9 Unit

Sgt. Jamie Crawford w/ K-9 Unit
Dog "Hyco" / Anderson Independent
From the  Anderson Independent:
"Hyco, a member of the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office canine unit, is one of the most highly trained dogs in the United States. He recently finished what amounts to the most difficult version of a patrol dog’s obstacle course.
He had to track a scent that was not fresh, but was an hour and a half old. He had to cross a road and travel along a creek until he found the person associated with the scent.
“Tracking a scent that’s not fresh is hard enough,” Crawford said. “Then, when you have to cross asphalt, well, asphalt is notorious for losing a scent. The fact that he was able to keep tracking, to stay focused, to track along a creek is really something.”"
