Funeral services to honor the life of Sarah were held 1:00 PM Thursday March 12th 2010 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial took place at Liberty Memorial Gardens.
Sarah Gantt White, 96, formerly of Palmetto Street, Liberty died Monday, March 08, 2010 at Blue Ridge Living Center. Born in Liberty she was the widow of L. Andrew White, and a daughter of the late John J. Gantt, Sr. and Julia Stewart Gantt. She retired from Goldsmith's Five & Dime Store after 52 years of service, where she served as manager of the Liberty, Pickens, and Piedmont stores for many of those years.
She was formerly an active member of the Liberty Garden Club, the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion. She was one of the oldest members of Liberty First Baptist Church having joined the church in 1929.
Surviving are two sisters, Mary Julia Lathem and Lillie Young both of Greenville, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Robert, Joe, and John Gantt, Jr.
