2 Hour Delay For Liberty Area Public Schools on Monday February 1, 2010



2 HOUR DELAY


There is a two hour delay for

Liberty Elementary
Liberty Middle
Liberty High School

... for Monday, February 1, 2010.

Announcement from Pickens County School District:

Inclement Weather Announcement

All Pickens County buses and schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Monday, February 1.

4K morning classes will be held and will dismiss at regular time.


This means that children DO NOT get picked up by buses until 2 hours later also.

DO NOT send children out into the cold as temperatures are in the teens with wind chill factored in.

The normal school bell rings at 8:00AM:

From School District Handbook:

School students are expected, by district policy, to arrive to school on time each day. First period begins at 8:00 AM. Any student arriving after 8:00 AM is tardy to school.


The normal Liberty Middle and Liberty High bells ring at 8:10 - even though students are to arrive no later than 8:00AM.

This means that on a two hour delay - this time moves to 10:00AM.

Additional notes:

The Skyline Region Wrestling Tournament scheduled for January 30, at Crescent High School has been re-scheduled for Monday, February 1, at 5:00PM with weigh-ins beginning at 4:00PM.

Lander University has moved its Open House to Saturday, February 13, from 9:30AM to 2:30PM.
