Mr. Thorsland represents District 4 (Liberty area). Elected in 2002, his priorities are to "set district goals and objectives that will maximize learning for all students and will make needed improvements in learning environments." Mr. Thorsland received an M.S. degree from Clemson University. He enjoys reading and gardening.

There is no December 2009 meeting scheduled.

All meetings are scheduled on the 4th Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Curtis A. Sidden Administration Building.

I'm going to try to attend the January 25, 2010 meeting to introduce ATLIBERTYTOSAY and report on the business of this meeting. I will be taking a number of issues raised on this site to the school board to make them aware and hopefully bring them to action to as many issues for our town as possible.

Regarding participation in School Board Meetings:

All meetings of the board are open to the public. The board will take action openly as prescribed by the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act. The board invites the general public, news media and district employees to attend board meetings.

The board requires that all persons wishing to make presentations to the board do so through established procedures as set forth in the administrative rule accompanying this policy. The procedures are designed to encourage participation and to ensure the orderly management of board meetings.
