It was truly an honor to exercise my right to vote yesterday! I would also like to congratulate all the winners, and I wish them the best! On the other hand, I am extremely disappointed in the citizens of Liberty that did not even vote. It seems that there are more citizens appearing at events such as Liberty Idol than there are at the polls.
I think we should also congratulate those that ran for offices and did not come out as the winner. It takes alot of courage and passion to speak out and run for a public office.
Part of the reason so few people vote in these elections is because they feel most politicians are just providing "lip service" and all that stuff they talk about and promise doesn't seem to happen once they get in office.
Mr. Martin,
I agree. And I do thank them. It does take a lot of courage to stand up against "the machine of incumbency" ... I've experienced a bit of bit of backlash myself as I have been questioned on the motifs of this site and even called a "whiner" by one council member.
