Why wasn't this sign advertising:
I only find this interesting because two candidates, Eddie Hughes and Ellen Sells somewhat oppose Liberty Idol.
Roy Costner (who manages Liberty Idol) goes to Liberty First Baptist. I am in no way insinuating malfeasance - I just find it interesting that there were small signs and no real VOTE HERE PLEASE mentality about Tuesday's election.

I feel that City Hall should have been responsible for making sure the signs on Hwy. 93 and throughout the city directed citizens to the correct polling place. I don't think Liberty First left it off deliberately, but if someone from the city or election commission had contacted them I do believe they would have gladly posted the information.
Excuse me..........I have never said I oppose Liberty Idol. What I object to is the lack of transparency....the money trail. It was originally billed as a smoke free event. Even though it is outdoors the smoking is overwhelming; not to mention the tobacco spitting on the street and sidewalks. It is disgusting. It used to be against the law!!!!!!! And why is our mayor selling ice cream? And why and how much are we paying "what's his face" for his promotional advise? And did we bid it out? And do the police get paid for overtime? These are my real concerns. Please do not put words in my mouth and if you quote me, quote me verbatum. Thanks for listening, Ellen
Ms. Sells ... I'm not putting words in your mouth ... by your statements here and in your posted flyers, it is clear you SOMEWHAT oppose Liberty Idol. I didn't say you oppose it and I made it clear in Eddie Hughes interview that he doesn't object to it.
The "somewhat oppose" comment was neither a quote nor insinuated such. It also does not need to be quoted it is easily inferred from your comments here and otherwise.
Mr. Martin,
I agree, I don't think it was deliberate at all. It sounds sensationalist to think that, but I can't tell you how many people I told where to go as i walked Liberty yesterday.
Today I spoke with four people - two of them (who hadn't read my site) said they didn't know where to vote.
I'm not sure you could find one single person in Liberty (well, maybe there are a few crab-apples!) who OPPOSES Liberty Idol.
What alot of people worry about is the fact that we use up all of our economic development money for 8-10 karaoke concerts each year, and Mr. Costner both controls the money (due to his position on the Chamber Board), and also takes credit at work for the $$$ he is bringing into his boss, Charter Cable.
Why does it cost ANYTHING to do Liberty Idol? Why can't we save our tax dollars and put on the show ourselves? Why do we have to give TENS OF THOUSANDS of our tax dollars to a company that doesn't even provide service in our town?
THese are the questions that need to be answered, and are the same concerns that Mr. Hughes and Mrs Berry brought up. Unfortunately, alot of people mischaracterized their simple questions, and started telling people the two were "against Liberty Idol."
I never said, "oppose" - I said, "somewhat oppose". I never said they want to end Liberty Idol - I clarified that succinctly in Eddie Hughes interview. I feel as a lot are trying to hash words out with me so they don't seem like they are against Liberty Idol. Again, this has all been clarified - using many to describe it.
For those that question my vocabulary, I suggest this:
Give me MORE reasons you are FOR Liberty Idol than you have given AGAINST it.
So far, it seems like a 5 to 1 against - which can be inferred as opposed to.
Again, I appreciate the debate.
Thank you for your input.
